Our Story

In 2012, a non-profit organization called Makanalani first opened its doors to provide free life-changing camps for youth in a beautiful unique environment. Sitting on 130-acres on the beautiful North Shore of Kauai, this property is also home to flocks of sheep, a herd of dairy cows, mini donkeys, hives of honeybees, a citrus orchard, a tea garden, and over 300 fruit trees.

In order to continue to provide camps completely free of charge, they began an internship program to help offset some labor costs as well as to provide a unique opportunity for young adults to live on Kauai for 3 months at a time, live in community with other young adults, and learn new skills. Seasoned with Aloha by Makanalani Farms was created to help teach our interns about small business, sustainability, customer service, and various other skills! Our teas, jams, and curds are made from fresh fruits and herbs that are hand-picked by our incredible interns. These same interns who care for our orchard, also cook and package our products. Once our products are ready for you, our interns take them to the local farmer's markets on Kauai for your enjoyment of the best farm fresh products the islands have to offer!

Hive of Bees

Our Farm.

Multiple hives of buzzing honeybees call our land their home. With a large citrus orchard, tea garden, and various other fruit trees, our bees never get bored with the vast variety of flowering trees throughout the year!

We hope to venture into making cheeses, chocolates, more jams and honeys, and other farm fresh products in the future. We have been blessed with some of the best, most fruitful land on the North Shore, so the possibilities for delicious products are endless!
